My poem of the day!

Where did all of this come from?

What I should say and what I won’t say mingle.
The words converse and echo
They yell and they scream
Damn words!  The storm brewing in my head… raining down.
I cannot make this stop.
No shelter for my self-induced storm.
This too shall pass?
Doubtful.
Indecent prospect I fear
Wishful thinking
Shameful thinking
Run the wheel down
Make it turn no more!
Infatuated
Curious
Confused as hell!

Poetry Prompt #145 (and I am late as usual)

For this week’s prompt, write an escape poem. The poem could about someone or something that is thinking of escape, has escaped, or has lost someone or something that has escaped. And remember: Escape can be a physical thing but also emotional, psychological, etc.

My VERY late attempt at the escape poetry prompt.

Eggshells crack as I walk through the house
Tension forces a web around me.
Cutting through all of the bullshit
With a knife is near impossible
Escape reality
Escape today
Return tomorrow anew.

Converse in time
Lay it on the table
Toss out the meaningless
Trash what remains
Escape
Breathe
Go forward.

New Deadline

I HAVE A NEW DEADLINE!!!!  I will (yes, WILL) complete my ebook by October 10, 2011.  The signficance of this date lies within the fact that it's my wedding Anniversary.

What has taken me so long?  A funeral. A flood. A wedding.  Kids.  Mother-in-law.  Life.

I am so excited and cannot wait to finish my compilation.  I hope you - if you're out there - enjoy it, too.

For now... I am off.

Untitled poem

The light shining through the darkness
Cutting through the fog
Reminds me that not all things are cloaked in darkness

The cold – near frigid – air is crisp
As if promising to change
To caress the sunlight and warm my insides

The stillness of the morning
The frost on the ground
A serene moment of clarity
